The Other Side of My Journey
For years, most of what I shared about my journey was about the physical side. Workouts, eating well, getting stronger. That part has been a big piece of who I am, and it still is.
But there's another side of my journey I haven't talked about much: the emotional and mental side. And honestly, it has been the harder climb.
For a long time I kept that part to myself. It was easier to focus on what I could see, like the weights, the miles, the progress in the mirror.
Getting in shape taught me that strength is built a little at a time, and that showing up matters more than how I feel on any given day. I'm learning the same is true on the inside. It's just slower, and a lot less visible.
I haven't figured it all out. I'm still working on it every day. But I keep challenging myself, one step at a time.
Going forward, I'd like to share more of that side of the journey here. Not as someone with all the answers, but as someone still on the path.
A drop doesn't worry about the river. It just moves. On the hard days, that's what I try to remember.
If you're working on something quietly too, you're not alone.
